It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Mathis Sr. of Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayland Mathis and Minnie Houck; his sisters, Pearl Gerlich and Veda Hemingway; and his son Joseph Micheal Mathis (Joey).

He is survived by: his wife Roxie Mathis; his daughter Angela Mathis; his grandchildren, Carissa, Ryne, Hailee and Aidan Khan; his siblings, Gerri Houck, Lisa Houck, Albert Drieslein and Tina Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Chiron Grisby and Kelil Dotson. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
