He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Scott and Mattie Fern Hoover (Martin); and his daughter Deana Patrice. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Ann Hoover (Holmes); his son Curtis Hoover; and his brother Richard'Dick'Hoover. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He volunteered for the American Red Cross for 14 years and was an active blood donor throughout his life donating over 15 gallons (128 pints of blood).
