He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Horst and Fannie Horst (Shank); his wife Dorothy R. Horst; his children, Jean Spangler and Michael L Horst of Hagerstown; and his siblings, Ida Zimmerman of Harrisburg, Ethel Lehman of Georgia, Abram Horst and Samuel Horst, Jr. of Hagerstown.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanette Ebersole (Eddie) of Waynesboro, PA and Jacob S Horst, Jr. (Diane) of Gainsville, VA; his son-in-law Bill Spangler of Hagerstown; and his sister Alice Harbaugh of Chambersburg. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
