He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mary Shupp Hammond Grove and Howell G. Hammond Sr.; his former wife Mary Warner Hammond; his siblings, Joenda Cook and Jackie Hammond; his wife Gloria Hammond; his children, Gary Hammond (Julie) and Kathy Hammond; his stepchildren, Michael Riego (Kristin) and Melisa Riego (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Brian Hammond (Genny) and Mary Schultz; his stepgrandsons, Marc and Mike Riego; and his great grandchildren, Logan and Maddie Hammond.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Howell's name to SpiritTrust Hospice of Chambersburg and Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter in Chambersburg.
