He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Jones (Brooks) and George Burnside; and his son Darryl Jones. He is survived by: his children, Guy Burnside, Jr., Michael Burnside, Derrick Carter, Keon Burnside, Shika Burnside and Tyshi Burnside Long. He is also survived by 19 Grandchildren; and many Great Grandchildren.
