With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Martin Chaskes (Hagerstown, Maryland), born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on February 11, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Chaskes and Minerva Chaskes. He is survived by: his wife Laura Chaskes (Gordon); his children, Ellen Wilcox and Eric; his daughter-in-law Constance; his brother Jay Chaskes; his sister-in-law Gail Chaskes; and his granddaughters, Alison Berman (Joshua), Amber Wilcox (Nicholas Hurson) and Sophia Chaskes. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, his service to his church and his nation, and his work mentoring children.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mr. Chaskes's honor to Otterbein United Methodist Church.
