He was predeceased by: his parents, George Benjamin and Beluah Bachtell (Swope); his daughter Cynthia Woodward; his grandson Patrick Bachtell; his great grandchild Jamison Bachtell; and his siblings, Wilbur Bachtell and Lillian Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie Louise "Sis" Bachtell (Barnes); his sons, Douglas A. Bachtell (Teresa), Wayne Bachtell (Pat), Brian Bachtell (Julie), Rodney L. Bachtell (Kathleen) and Donald Bachtell (Deb); and his brother Kenneth Bachtell. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in George's name to Hospice of Washington County (Doey's House), 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
