She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenzo Tifre and Fidencia Tifre (Solano); her siblings, Lorenzo, Ciriaco, Juan Tifre and Amalia; and her grandson Barry Castro.

She is survived by: her husband Adolfo Alvarez of Honduras; her children, Jose Dixon Castro of Brooklyn, NY and Dr. Miriam Dobson (Richard) of Hagerstown, MD; her brother Salustiano Demosthenes "Momo" Tifre of Brooklyn, NY; and her grandsons, James and Richard Dobson, Jr.. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
