It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Jane Sprankle of Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Ellsworth Long and Freda May Long (Roser); her husband Richard Hurd Sprankle; her son John F. Sprankle; her grandson Richard Sprankle, III; and her siblings, Mary Sprankle, Rebecca Smith, Ella Mae Long, Catherine Benner, Margaret Smith, Vernice "Annie" Henson and Elmer Long, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Ella M. Clevenger (Charles) and Richard H. Sprankle, II (Dina); and her siblings, Ruth Long, Robert, Frank and Sam Long. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home (1331 Eastern Blvd N, Hagerstown, MD 21742). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (17630 Virginia Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21740).
