He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly V. Northcraft and Lucy B. Northcraft (Gordon); his close friend Judy Wolfe; and his siblings, Ernest, Ivan, Ray, Alta, Orpha, Vernelda and Delma.

He is survived by: his children, Leesa Buckley (James A., Jr.), Darrell Northcraft and Jennifer Pannill (Michael); his stepchildren, Jeffrey Wolfe and Jody Rockenbaugh; his grandchildren, James Buckley, III, Jamie Vannoy, John Knode and Julia Rockenbaugh; and his great grandchild Avery J. Vannoy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
