He was predeceased by: his father Merle Dobson; his stepfather Thomas Stine; his aunt Barbara Murray; his half-brother Michael Morris; and his stepson Nicholas Dewease.

He is survived by: his mother Vickie Dobson; his wife Candace Dobson; his son Curtis D Dobson II; his stepson Qyntin Dewease; his sister Christina Dobson; his stepsiblings, Betty Sutton, Candy Rever and Tommy Stine; and his cousin Jeremy Murray. He is also survived by many other extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
