He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomas and Kathleen Lucille Slate (Martin); his wife Pamela Jean Slate (Barnhart); his daughter Kristin L. Slate; and his sister Peggy Hellane.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Richard "Chuck" Slate II and Keira Solanki (Manoj); his grandson Joshua Solanki; and his brothers, Robert T. Slate II and George B. Slate.
