She was predeceased by: her parents, James Floyd and Thelma Smith (Snodderly); her husband Carl W. Teays; and her siblings, Melva Kramer, Sherman Smith, Gary Smith and James F. Smith II.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael Teays, Mark A. Teays, Scott Teays and James Teays (Amber); her grandchildren, Michelle, Ryan, Samantha, Tyler, Alyssa and Emily; her great grandchildren, Karlee, Karissa, Kara and Shawn; and her brothers, Richard Smith and Donald Smith.
