He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Virginia Swope (Peake) and Walter Edmond Swope; his wife Cheryl Marie Swope (Jacobs); his brother John Walter Swope; and his children-in-law, Mickey Knight and Ruth Ann Swope.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey A. Swope, John M. Swope, Jacqueline E. Knight, Judith M. Holt (Peter) and Jennifer S. Schlereth (Leonard). He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter.
