It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Augustus Lane (Greensboro, Maryland), born in Ridgely, Maryland, who passed away on April 4, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Maryetta Guessford Lane; his brothers, Mark Cole and Manuel Lane; and his stepchildren, Ronnie Taylor and Franny Taylor.
He is survived by: his daughter Juanita Long (Wade) of Mardela Springs; his stepchildren, Buddy Taylor (Charlotte) of Florida, Rosie Wright (Timmy) of Whiteleysburg and Shirley Thompson of Smyrna; his friend Barbara Parker of Pittsville; and his siblings, Nate Cole (Geraldine) of Ridgely, Lydia L. Lockner of Ridgely and Anna Fortney of Hartly. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and may great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
