He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh William and Nancy Lee Selby Wilkerson; and his brothers, William E. Wilkerson and Michael A. Wilkerson. He is survived by: his wife Kelly D. Wilkerson of Greensboro; his children, Alexandra G. Wilkerson and Joshua M. Wilkerson of Greensboro; and his sisters, Debra Jackson of Mt. Vernon, MD, Pamela Spicknall of Lothian, MD, Bonnie Turley (Steve) of Greensboro, MD, Sandra Wilkerson of Crofton, MD and Mary Wilkerson of Crofton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
