He was predeceased by: his brother Jason Truax. He is survived by: his parents, Roberta Bussey and Alvin R. Cain, III; his siblings, Sophia Cain, Gina Truax, Jackson Cain and Jeremy Truax, Jr.; his grandparents, Joan Cain, Alvin R. Cain, Jr. and Eleanor Bussey; and his aunts and uncles, Paula Cain, Donna Bussey, Wayne Geer and Thomas Bussey, Jr..

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made, in Jered's memory, to the DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.
