He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon R. Burgess and Anna V. Haddaway Burgess; his son Troy; and his brother Glenn Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Alice Burgess of Greensboro; his son Dale Burgess, Jr.; his nieces, Crystal Marie Pierce McKinnon of Chester and Marti Burgess; his nephew Michael L. Burgess (Sherri) of Bridgeville, DE; his great-nephew Sgt. Joshua Bridges (Grace) of Tennessee; his great-niece Krystyne M. Young (Austin) of Florida; and also, Roni of Tennessee and Anna Burgess Woodward (Josh) of Secretary.
