The memory of Shirley Arlene Beitzel of Grantsville, Maryland, who passed away on March 26, 2025 at the age of 81, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Freeman Butler and Elsie C. Butler (Platter); her husband Freeman Emerson Beitzel; and her siblings, Ralph, Stewart, Charles, Hugh, Jack, James, Roy Butler, Florence Rugg and Leona Butler.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Sandra K. Durst (John) of Frostburg, MD and Galen Beitzel (Dorothy); her grandchildren, Jonas Durst (Tara), Stephanie Durst, Chrystal Preston (Eric), Charity Bullington (Lance), Nicholas Durst (Jackie), Jared Beitzel and Jewell Paxton (Jeremy); her great grandchildren, Keaden, Casen, Logan, Ryder, Kanden, Brock, Addison, Brook, Bradley, Malia and Ava; and her siblings, Alvie Butler, Glenn Butler, Freda Edmonson and Jean Hutzel.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newman Funeral Homes (179 Miller St, Grantsville, MD 21536). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
