He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleamon Washington and Freda Yommer (Hershberger); and his wife Viola Ruth Yommer (Opel). He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Taylor of Columbia, MD and Sheri Sechler (Scott); his grandchildren, Christian Sechler, Morgan Shaffer (Matthew), Evan Sechler and Luke Sechler; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Colton, Gracelynn Sechler and Rylee Shaffer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Newman Funeral Homes (179 Miller St, Grantsville, MD 21536). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
