He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lorenzo Gillespie, Sr. and Nannie Mariam Gillespie (Bryant); and his sister Gwendolyn Gillespie (Barbara Ann). He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Gillespie and Travis Gillespie (Angela); his grandsons, Omar, Jalen and Jeremy Gillespie; his stepmother Thelma Gillespie; and his siblings, Jeanette Gillespie, Linda Diana Gillespie-Polite, Philip McNeill (Cecilia) and Kenneth Gillespie (Eileen). He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.
