He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert William and Gladys Van Meter (Bittinger) of Virginia. He is survived by: his wife Donna Frances Van Meter (Swartley); his children, Stephen W. Van Meter (Kimberlyn) of Hanover, Beverly A. Ross (Brian) of Landsowne, Arthur T. Van Meter of Baltimore, Mary E. Van Meter (Kimberly) of Brooklyn Park and Nicole L. Ender of Pasadena; and his brother James V. Van Meter (Pam) of Martinsburg. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
