He was predeceased by: his former wife Irma Otero; and his wife Pauline Otero. He is survived by: his children, Jose A Otero, Jr. (Diana) of South Carolina, Enrico Otero (Melody) of Pasadena, Carlos Otero (Patty) and Angela Mueller (David) of Glen Burnie; and his brother Rafael Otero of Puerto Rico.
