He is survived by: his wife Elaine G. Turpin; his daughters, Tammy Lynn Bloss, Amy Marie Turpin and Mindy Layne Turpin (Joseph Louis Carr Sr.); his grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Bradford, Presleigh Jewel Turpin, Gabriel Paul Orgel, Bryce Eugene Carr, Joseph Louis Carr Jr., Alexander Pierce Carr and Maleigha Isabella Carr; and his brother Jesse Turpin (Mary Turpin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
