He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Douglas Zimmerman, Sr. (Doug) and Mary Katherine Zimmerman (Kay). He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Leigh Hudson; his granddaughter Kari Elizabeth Hudson; and his sister Carol Ann Powers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Charles County or the American Cancer Institute.
