She is survived by: her daughter Julia Canty (Joevaugh); her husband Tommy Canty; her children, Anthony (Michelle), Vernon (Nichelle) and Verna (Elliot); her brother Abu Shakur; her grandchildren, Asia, Maya, Jordon, Brianna, Kianna, Kazmere, Elliot Jr., Targiana, Janaya, Jaden and Jaylen; her great grandchildren, Elijah, Clay, Jenesis, Khloee and Kah'lani; her stepchildren, James (Valarie), Jeffrey, Karen (John) and Sharon (Anthony); and her siblings-in-law, Sheila Blake (Mack), Essie (AL), Fannie, Leroy and Waddell.
