He was predeceased by: his parents, James David McLain and Louise Hemmingway McLain. He is survived by: his wife Ruth McLain; his children, Sammy McLain Jr. of Olney, MD, Angela McLain Jones of Rockville, MD, Linda McLain Samuels of Clarksburg, MD, Priscilla McLain Dosunmu of Hanover, MD, Aretha McLain of Clarksburg, MD and Valerie McLain Robinson of Waldorf, MD.; and his sisters, Rose Ann Waters of Greensboro, NC and Dorothy Fletcher of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
