She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Simons and Mildred Simons; and her husband Gordon Frederick Plitt, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Fred Plitt (Kathy) of Crofton, MD, Richard Plitt of Gambrills, MD and Joanna Bruno of Severn, MD.; her grandchildren, Zachary Plitt, Carolyn Eagle, Nathan and Sean Bruno; and her brothers, Howard Simons (Peggy) of Dagsboro, DE and A. J. Simons (Dottie) of Bowie, MD..

“I first met Mary when she and I were gathering clothes, toys and gifts for a family of children who had to move in with their grandparents. What a wonderful compassionate woman she was. I had noticed her name on our church prayer list and kept meaning to send her a card but that went the way of all good intentions. What a terrible loss this is to all of us who knew this warm kind, loving woman. Rest in peace Mary, may God bless your family in their mourning. In His name, Jean McHenry”
