He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Cleveland and Margaret Ann Connolley Elburn; and his sister Mary Ellen "Ellie" Gillis. He is survived by: his siblings, Steve Elburn (Nanette) of Port Deposit, MD and Sharon McDermott (Sean) of Long Island, NY; his brother-in-law Glenn Gillis of Aberdeen, MD; and his nieces and nephews, Erin, Maura Elburn, Mike (Nichole), Katie Gillis, Sean (Ariana) and Connor McDermott. He is also survived by three great nephews and one great niece.
