He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Orem and William Brown; his stepfather James Orem; and his sisters, Estelle Fisher and Mary Gray.

He is survived by: his wife Earlene Snowden; his children, Jerome Snowden, Mamie Brown (Wayne), Elnora Burrell (Eric), James Snowden (Darlene) and Darnell O'Neil; his sister Pamela Washington (Christa Morris); his aunt Gloria Snowden; his sister-in-law Gloria Sinkler; and his extended family, Larry, Alice Miller, Nita Mensah, Henry Snowden, Aissa Snowden, Angie Clevenger and Melissa Jackson. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
