He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene C. and Bertha; his wife Carolyn Sauer; and his daughter Lynn "DeeDee" Sauer. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Sauer (Mary Ann) of Ft. Myers, FL, Daniel Sauer (Laura) of Bethesda, MD and Paul Sauer (Olga) of Cape Coral, FL.; and his stepgrandchildren, Simone Walker-Wiklund of Silver Spring, MD and Alexandra Sanafeeva of Japan.
