With solemn reverence, we commemorate Kay Travis (Gaithersburg, Maryland), born in Waco, Texas, whose life came to an end on March 31, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving behind cherished memories. In the vast expanse of eternity, Kay shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Kay farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John G. Richter and Mary Katherine Agerton Richter; her husband John; her daughter Sarah; her grandchild Thomas (Tom); and her son Edward (Ed).
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church (610 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877). Things came to a head in the middle of December 2020 while quarantined for exposure to Covid-19.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome the support of accredited institutions and organizations dedicated to the understanding and treatment of dementia as well as to the hospice movement.
