He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Deane Nichols and David Garfield O'Steen; and his brother Charles Ermon O'Steen. He is survived by: his children, David Nichols O'Steen, Jr. (Nick), Alice Lynn O'Steen and Barbara Gail O'Steen (Kevin Capen); his grandchildren, Jacob, Emma Jade O'Steen, Joshua Kaplan (Lisette Lazo), Jordan Kaplan, Joseph Newton, David Nathaniel O'Steen, Camryn and Kaitlyn O'Steen; his stepgranddaughter Abigail Capen; his great grandchildren, Sofia, Aiden Kaplan and Leon O'Steen; his brother James Albert O'Steen (Lois O'Steen); and his close friend Jacki Ragan. He is also survived by his family, his friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DeVol Funeral Home - Maryland (10 E Deer Park Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20877). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (6701 Muncaster Mill Rd, Derwood, MD 20855).
