He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Leon and Nina Mae Eversole Ecton; his wife Frances Ernestine Nelson Ecton; his stepson Rick A. Beard; and his son-in-law Richard Hebb, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Brenda M. Hebb of Big Pool, MD, Karen Y. Lemaster (Raymond) of Falling Waters, WV, Elmer T. Ecton, Jr. (Cindy) of Hagerstown, MD, Monte L. Ecton (Peggy) of Sharpsburg, MD, Michael K. Ecton (Christie) of Hagerstown, MD, Darrell L. Ecton of Martinsburg, WV and Eric Thomas Ecton (Dominique) of Weston, WV; his stepchildren, Debra L. Thomas (Gary) of Fairplay, MD and Rodney N. Beard (Verna) of Williamsport, MD; and his brother Roger Ecton of Sharpsburg, MD. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
