She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Elliott and Mable Elliott. She is survived by: her husband Richard "Dick" Carey; and her children, Richard N. Carey, III (Jennifer Layton Carey) and Jennifer Carey Darcy (Tim Darcy). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other loving relatives and friends.
