He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Kennell and Alma Kennell (Boyer); his wife Mabel Cutter Kennell; and his siblings, Betty Cook and Harry "Mush" Kennell.
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Garton (Larry) and Jess Kennell (Debbie) of Stanley, NC; his stepchildren, John Lancaster (Cheryl) of Finzel, Ruthie VanNewkirk of Columbia, SC and Kathie Rybka (Ted) of Frostburg; his grandchildren, Luke Garton, Kasey Summitt (Kyle), Amanda Baker (Ryan), Katie Kennell, Eric VanNewkirk (Kat) and Robbin VanNewkirk (Matthew Solarski); his great grandchildren, Jason Shingler, Emma Baker, Ava Baker, Grayson Baker, Alex Summitt, Evelyn Solarski and Tobias Solarski; his siblings, Charles Teters (Leona) of Corriganville, Clyde Kennell of Kennells Mill, Nancy Murray of Kennells Mill, Anna Lee Neubiser of Wellersburg, Delores Reese (Robert) of Kennells Mill, Jessie Spiker (Ronnie) of Hyndman and Jo Ann Shaffer (Jeff) of Hyndman; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Cutter, Blaine Cutter of Lonaconing and Edgar "Duke" Cutter of Frostburg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Due to the restrictions of the COVID 19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
