It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Alderton of Frostburg, Maryland, who passed away on June 20, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Wiebrecht and Mary Wiebrecht (Muir); her husband James W. Alderton; and her siblings-in-law, Jack Alderton and Totsy Alderton.
She is survived by: her sister Barbara Chasteen of Placerville, California; her children, Beverly Green (Gary) of Frostburg, Bruce Alderton (Debbie) of Cumberland and Brian Alderton of Frostburg; her grandchildren, Vincent Green (Abbey) of Grahamtown, Brandon Alderton (Julie) of Huntsville, Alabama, Sierra Green of Greenbelt, Maryland, Rachel Alderton of Cumberland and Amy Alderton of Cumberland; and her great grandchildren, Willow Green and Madison Green of Grahamtown.
Just two months ago, when church services were cancelled due to the pandemic, Mary Virginia played music on the organ to be used during the church's online services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary Virginia can be made to the Union Rescue Mission, 16 Queen City Pavement, Cumberland, Maryland, a cause near and dear to her heart.
