He was predeceased by: his parents, John V. Matese and Lucy Matese; his parents-in-law, Carl and Agnes Skidmore; his sisters, Theresa Fiorita and Betty Roik; his siblings-in-law, A. Sue Skidmore and Carl Skidmore (LeEsta); and his nephews, Carl Donnald Skidmore and Keith Roik.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Matese (Skidmore) of Michael's Church; his children, Toni Toothaker (Keith) and Michael Matese (Shannon); his grandchildren, Tory Smith (Matt), Trevor Matese (Jamie), Cody Toothaker, Nick Matese and John Toothaker; his great grandchildren, Georgia, James and Cici; and his close friends, Karin and Dave Burner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the UPMC Hospice Care program.
