John Hafer Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Hafer Jr. (Frostburg, Maryland), who passed away on June 5, 2019 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Hafer, Sr. and Leah Durst Hafer; his brother Charles (Sherry Slater Hafer); his son Douglas Slater Hafer; and his stepdaughter Wendy Nelms.
He is survived by: his wife Lorene; his sisters, Fran Chiles of Texas, Mary Hamilton, Severna Park, Margaret Keyworth and Susie Hill; his children, John Hafer III (Lisa) and Nancy Hafer DeVore (Rob); his stepson John Nelms; and his grandchildren, Garrett DeVore, Shelby DeVore Hutcheson (Tyler), Slater, Jacob Hafer and Brian Hafer. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made, in John's name, to the Ali Ghan Shrine Transportation Fund, PO Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21501.
