He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Phillips and Gerald A. Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Phillips; his sons, Jimmy Phillips (Pamela), Jeff Phillips (Krista) and Erik Phillips (Amy); his grandchildren, Shyler Kolberg (Adam), Shane Phillips (Katie Richards), Emma Phillips and Austen Phillips; his great grandchild Ruby Max Kolberg; his sisters, Yvonne Dorsey and Beverly Hilyard (Don); and his pet Lady. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
