He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph George and Ruth Shirley (Kidd). He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn Cross Walker Shirley; his children, James Shirley (Rhonda), Christina Shirley, Glenn Walker (Renee) and Erin Walker; his grandchildren, Maura Shirley, Julia Shirley, Zak Lee, Nick Walker and Richard Henry; his great grandchild Hanna Henry; his siblings, Bill Shirley (Gail), Ann Davis (Pete), Carolyn Francis and John Shirley; and his siblings-in-law, Susan Long and Glenn Cross. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorial donations, in Mike's name be made to the Frostburg Fire Department, P.O Box 461, Frostburg, MD.
