He was predeceased by: his parents, Dudley Alexander Shafer and Dorothy Lorraine (Oberholtzer); and his aunt Dorothy Norris (Adolf). He is survived by: his wife Roberta Shafer; his children, Brian Shafer, Jr., Tiffany Ryan (Zach) and Jolene Shafer; his grandchildren, Fiona Ryan and Gavin Ryan; his sister Terre Tribut; and his nephews, Jason Loar and Justin Loar.
