He was predeceased by: his parents, Blaine Layman and Mary Layman (McKenzie); his siblings, Michael, Bernard, Angela Llewellyn and Ginny DeWitt; and his son-in-law Kevin Lamberth.

He is survived by: his wife Alma Lee of Lonaconing; his sons, Steve (Vivian) of Colorado Springs, CO and Charles (Michele) of Elizabeth, CO; and his stepdaughters, Kathy Lamberth of Little River, SC and Patty (Jim).
