He was predeceased by: his parent Leo Ray; and his son John Avery Bageant. He is survived by: his parent Twila Bageant (Shallenberger); his wife Ada Mae Bageant (Shaner); his daughter Miranda Rae Bageant of Friendsville; his brother James Bageant, Sr.; and his granddaughters, Laura Bageant and Cydney Wiland.
