She was predeceased by: her parents, Emert William and Margaret Laura Shoemaker (Dunham); and her siblings, William Shoemaker and Virginia Bernard. She is survived by: her husband James Roger Spear, I; her children, Paula Jean Spear of Friendsville and James Roger Spear, II (Gena) of Friendsville; her brothers, James Shoemaker of Pasadena, MD and Rick Shoemaker; her grandsons, Kody Suter, Clint Suter, Jimmy Spear, III and Jesse Spear; and her great grandchildren, Konor Suter and Karson Suter. She is also survived by Many nieces, nephews and neighborhood children considered her a second mother.
