He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Lytle and Lela Lytle (Fike); and his siblings, Elmer Lytle, Sarah Leone Schroyer, Betty Lou Lytle, Alice Lohr and Ellen Dennis.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Lytle (Knight); his children, Gregory (Aimee), Edward (Sandy) and Jennifer Glotfelty (Steven); his brother David Alvin Lytle; his grandchildren, Kelsey Artice (Keith), Eddie (Kylie), Caleb (Kierstyn), Tori, Alexandria, Ryan, Emilee and Tucker; and his great grandchildren, Evie, Willow, Luke and Annalise. He is also survived by one great-grandson.

He was the treasurer of Friendsville Veterans Memorial Fund and lifelong member of the Farmer's Wildlife Association of Asher Glade.
