In loving memory of John Phillip Soder Jr. of Friendship, Maryland, born in Olean, New York, who departed this world on November 9, 2024 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Soder and Harriet Soder. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Judith Anne Emerson (Andrew), Jennifer Marie Gilmore (Jason) and John Phillip Soder III; his stepchildren, Daryl Samuelson, Mark Johnson, Derek Johnson, Donald Roy and Michael Roy; and his grandchildren, Michael Emerson, Patrick Emerson, Kevin Emerson, Jacqueline Gilmore, Jackson Gilmore, Madison Soder and John Soder IV (JP). He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. James' Episcopal Parish (5757 Solomons Island Rd, Lothian, MD 20711). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. James' Parish Cemetery (5757 Solomons Island Rd, Lothian, MD 20711).
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
