It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas E. Platek in Frederick, Maryland, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Platek and Phyllis Platek (Jurkiewicz); his sister Virginia; and his daughter-in-law Kristina Gordon. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Frey; his children, Michael Gordon of Brunswick, NY, Michele Spence (Adam) of Norwich, NY and Marianne Fromm (Eric) of Baltimore, MD.; his brother Michael Platek (Catherine Schunk) of Guilderland, NY; and his grandchildren, Kyle Gordon of Brunswick, NY, Emily, Leah, Tommy Spence of Norwich, NY, Leo and Edie Fromm (Baltimore, MD). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home (1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church (4103 Prices Distillery Rd, Ijamsville, MD 21754).
