He was predeceased by: his parent Robert James; and his daughter Janis Louise James. He is survived by: his spouse Sara L. James; his parent Maude Nellie Hood James; his son Charles A. James (Karen); and his sisters, Peggy Garst (Denton) of Frederick, Doris Lenhart of Thurmont and Lois Remsberg (Robert) of Woodbridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
