He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Freedman Berman; and his parents, Morris Berman and Lottie Berman. He is survived by: his significant other Johanna Zimmerly; his children, Susan Gordon (Larry), David Berman (Karen) and Daniel Berman; his sister Sylvia Belkin; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Gordon, Sarah Batten (Aubrey), Jeremy Gordon, Abigail Berman and Samuel Berman (Elizabeth).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to the American Jewish World Service, The Dementia Society, Inc. or the Social Action Fund at Temple Isaiah.
